The square in front of the Kunshan Municipal Government and its subway station underwent a comprehensive transformation beginning in 2022. New retail and parking facilities were introduced beneath the square to consolidate services and free the surface for public use. The aboveground landscape was organized along the original cross-axis structure of the city square to respect urban geometry. A central water feature and a large grass slope anchor the main axis and physically divide the site into four distinct sections. Dazhou and Associates was commissioned to design the aboveground landscape architecture, coordinating the surface program with the new underground functions.
