Located on the streetside of Ivan Hill terrace in Silver Lake, the two-storey ADU consists of two distinct pods that appear to float above the hillside. One pod is a large, shimmering reflective ocean blue cube clad in ribbed tiles. The counterpart is a stepped greige volume with black rectilinear window frames. The design employs staggered floorplates to step with the slope, and short runs of stairs connect each level. The form responds directly to the topography while contrasting materials and rectilinear geometries articulate separate programmatic volumes.
