I judged D&AD New Blood, here's my advice for your graduate show

Judging the 'Ones to Watch' category at D&AD New Blood involved a brief but intensive review of multiple student stands in Protein Studios. The students hailed from various universities showcasing graphic design, advertising, and illustration. To make a decision on the top three creatives, key factors were considered including boldness, originality, and clarity. Strong statements, craftsmanship, and clarity in labeling individual works were essential in differentiating standout pieces from the rest.
The best work drew me in either because it was unusual, intriguing or just incredibly well done. Be bold and individual in your work.
The best work was individual and didn't look like the same as work that's already out there in the world. Don't follow trends.
Make sure your work is clearly labelled. It was tricky on some stands to work out whose work was whose.
