Every Room in This Boutique Hotel in Denver Has a Copper Bathtub and Striking, Western-inspired Decor
"Housed in a National Register of Historic Places-listed, red-brick mansion that dates back to 1886, the hotel is a glaring departure from the contemporary gray buildings that line Grant Street in the city's Capitol Hill district. Inside, the walls are lined with original burgundy wallpaper and ornate Bavarian woodwork. And the staircase, with its intricate carvings of flowers, gargoyles, and swans all across the balustrade, took my breath away."
"I was greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and handed my room keys (you know, the silver-plated Skeleton kind you actually have to insert in the lock). Before heading upstairs to unpack, I sat in the intimate Parlor Bar near the living room area, sipping my drink and soaking up the Western Americana-inspired decor. Urban Cowboy Denver, with just 16 rooms, has whimsical charm, maximalist design, and a lovely restaurant and bar in the heart of Denver."
Denver combines a thriving culinary scene with dramatic natural scenery. Urban Cowboy Denver occupies an 1886 red-brick mansion listed on the National Register in the Capitol Hill district, contrasting with contemporary Grant Street buildings. Interiors feature original burgundy wallpaper, ornate Bavarian woodwork, and an intricately carved staircase with flowers, gargoyles, and swans along the balustrade. Guests are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and receive silver-plated skeleton keys that must be inserted in room locks. An intimate Parlor Bar showcases Western Americana-inspired decor, and the property includes a restaurant and bar. The 16-room hotel offers Pony Suites with Wright mattresses, a Honeymoon Suite with twin copper tubs, and custom wallpaper by Clinton Van Gemert that gives each room unique character.
