De Zevensprong is a new Integrated Child and Expertise Centre in Hoorn, the Netherlands, opening this school year. Amsterdam studio KRFT designed the building to consolidate five former special primary education locations into one campus. The centre provides spaces for learning, care, childcare and sport within a sustainable environment. The design emphasizes a homely atmosphere where children can develop freely and professionals collaborate closely under the guiding principle that the child comes first. Project partners include local schools, childcare organisations, municipal authorities, landscape architect Jan de Vries, and specialists in bamboo cladding, timber framing and sustainable insulation.
