"'Making is no longer a linear, directive process; it becomes a co-evolution shaped by multiple intelligences operating simultaneously across material, biological, and spatial scales,'"
"'Plastic became a lens to understand how drastically our intentions and consequences can diverge,'"
"'Working with worms revealed that nature already holds pathways for metabolising what we consider irreversible problems.'"
"'Their behavior resembled that of micro-sensors, always recalibrating in response to temperature, light, and moisture,'"
Factory 5.0 positions biological intelligence as an active collaborator, using 10,000 king worms to metabolize Styrofoam and reshape structure geometry in real time. The project reconceives architectural authorship amid a Fifth Industrial Revolution defined by converging human and non-human intelligences, where making becomes a co-evolution across material, biological, and spatial scales. Plastic is reframed through decomposition, revealing natural pathways for metabolizing materials previously considered irreversible. The pavilion is composed of 546 digitally fabricated timber components, 200 Styrofoam plates, and transparent acrylic chambers where worm behavior continually recalibrates the system in response to temperature, light, and moisture.
