Perdomo looked like a nice player but not really even a building block, as he neither defended nor hit well enough to be all that exciting. Several familiar names are performing at or near elite levels, while partial-season contributors and rookies have climbed into the top ranks. Geraldo Perdomo has surged to fifth in MLB with 6.7 fWAR after modest prior campaigns, posting a .363 xwOBA and monthly wRC+ at or above 125 in every month except June. Maikel Garcia is noted as a similar case, with a 2023 line of 2.2 fWAR and a .319 xwOBA.
