The Cowboys' offense shone brightly in 2025 " Inside The Star
"When sifting through the wreckage of the Dallas Cowboys'2025 season, the offense is the only unit that emerges unscathed. The Cowboys were 2 nd in both total yards (6,663) and passing yards (4,527). Dallas was 9 th in rushing yards (2,136) and 7 th in points with 471. Those numbers would get most teams into the playoffs with ease. But most teams wouldn't be saddled with the defense that the Cowboys' offense had to overcome on top of the opponent's own defense on a weekly basis."
"For the first time in his 10-year career, Dak Prescott completed over 400 passes (404) but failed to make the playoffs. The other two years he cracked 400 completions came in 2021 and 2023, when he had 410 completions in each of those years. Dallas made the playoffs in both seasons with a 12-5 record. This year's 7-9-1 finish fell well short."
Dallas' offense ranked second in total yards (6,663) and passing yards (4,527), ninth in rushing (2,136) and seventh in points (471). Those production levels would normally secure playoff berths for most teams, but a weak Cowboys defense and opposing defenses compounded the challenge. The offense and defense combined produced a -9 turnover differential as Dallas had 21 turnovers while the defense generated only 12 takeaways. Dak Prescott completed over 400 passes (404), threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns, but also had double-digit interceptions contributing to the team's 7-9-1 finish. Backup Joe Milton played in four games, going 15-for-24 for 183 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
