"Every year, in addition to 30 usually high-profile national draft-eligible players the Cowboys bring in for pre-draft visits, they also bring in roughly 50 draft-eligible local prospects who are usually less well known. These visits by local prospects usually happen in early to mid April and are known as "Dallas Days". A player is considered a local prospect if he went to high school or college in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area, he was born there or his parents live there."

TCU, SMU, and North Texas are the three colleges in the area from which the Cowboys are allowed to invite prospects. The NFL combine begins in a bit over a week and will showcase many top prospects for the 2026 draft. High-profile names will dominate coverage, but lesser-known players will also attract attention. The Cowboys conduct pre-draft visits including roughly 30 national prospects and about 50 local prospects during "Dallas Days" each April. A local prospect qualifies by high school, college, birthplace, or parental residence within a defined DFW boundary. TCU, SMU, and North Texas are the eligible local colleges. Past Dallas Days produced several Cowboys players. Twenty-one local combine invitees have been identified among the 319 total invitees.
