Cowboys Trade DL Solomon Thomas To Titans
"Thomas spent three seasons playing under Saleh while the two were in New York. While the defensive lineman only started four of his 50 appearances for the Jets, he still emerged as a useful defensive lineman. He had nine sacks during his tenure with the organization, including a five-sack showing in 2023."
"The veteran inked a two-year, $8MM deal with the Cowboys last offseason, and he ended up starting two of his 16 appearances for his new squad. However, his 419 defensive snaps played was one of the lowest totals of his career, and he finished the season shutout in the sacks column."
"Saleh has been busy recruiting former Jets to Tennessee. Thomas will be plenty familiar with some of his DL teammates, as the Titans have also added former Jets Jermaine Johnson and John Franklin-Myers this offseason."
The Tennessee Titans traded for defensive lineman Solomon Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys, exchanging seventh-round picks (No. 218 for No. 225). Thomas spent three seasons with the Jets under Saleh, recording nine sacks in 50 appearances. With the Cowboys, he appeared in 16 games with only two starts and recorded no sacks on 419 defensive snaps, earning a middle-of-the-road Pro Football Focus grade. Thomas was originally drafted third overall by San Francisco in 2017, where he also played under Saleh. The Titans are building familiarity by also adding former Jets Jermaine Johnson and John Franklin-Myers this offseason.
