Whoopi Goldberg did not attend The View season 27 premiere because of a third COVID-19 diagnosis. Joy Behar informed the audience that Goldberg has COVID but said she was on the mend and likely to return within the week. Goldberg previously missed episodes in January and November 2022 due to COVID-19. Behar noted that Goldberg, being vaccinated and boosted, experienced very mild symptoms during an earlier case. Goldberg cautioned that boosters do not guarantee immunity and recommended continued mask use. COVID-19 cases and hospital admissions have been rising in the U.S.
