Storm Risk Shifts to East Coast
Briefly

A severe storm system that has already caused significant destruction in the Midwest and South is forecasted to move toward the East Coast. This storm has resulted in at least 34 fatalities and widespread damage, including hail and tornadoes. Though the risk of severe weather will decrease on its eastward journey, forecasters warn of potential tornadoes and severe storms from Central Florida to western Pennsylvania. Meteorologist Rich Otto suggests that while the recent storm severity won’t continue, there remains a risk of dangerous weather in certain areas.
The system, which has killed at least 34 people, is expected to unleash storms that could generate tornadoes across the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast.
Rich Otto, a meteorologist, mentioned the expectation of lesser storm severity by stating, 'I'm not expecting the coverage to be as significant and the storms to be as numerous in terms of the overall severity.'
