"Consumer Reports Tests Caffeine and Contaminant Levels of Popular Coffees A new Consumer Reports investigation measured caffeine and common contaminants in ground coffees bought online, in U.S. supermarkets and at chains including Dunkin', Peet's, Starbucks and McDonald's. While levels of heavy metals, acrylamide and other compounds were below thresholds considered unsafe, the tests found that several large brews can easily push drinkers over the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's recommended 400-milligram daily caffeine limit."
