Washed Up Coffee opened in Detroit's West Village offering scratch-made drinks and a constantly updated selection of roasters and coffees. Emily Potter and Amélie Boulanger are co-founders applying decades of combined coffee experience. The cafe shares a space with La Fonda Street and provides seating toward the back, plus a sunlit bench opposite a coffee bar fronted with hexagonal terrazzo tile. A custom yellow, red and blue La Marzocco Linea PB AV espresso machine creates a bold, playful tone. The 500-square-foot space uses Mahlkönig, Mazzer, and EK43 grinders and a Fetco brewhouse. Opening roasters include Metric, Valor, ReAnimator, Methodical, Panther, and Dessert Oasis.
