Coastal Commodities, formerly Volcafe USA, completed a rebranding following the conclusion of a commercial arrangement with the Volcafe group that began in 2000. The New Jersey-based green coffee trading company, originally founded as Madison Coffee Company in 1990, maintains its independent ownership structure with co-owners Jonathan DeMuria, CEO John DeMuria, and CFO John Lorenz. The transition does not affect leadership, employees, financing, or day-to-day operations. Coastal Commodities trades approximately 275-280 million pounds of coffee annually and ranks among North America's largest green coffee traders by volume. The rebranding aligns with structural changes within the Volcafe group, which recently transitioned to new ownership under Hartree.
