Explorer Cold Brew completed an acquisition of Savorista on Jan. 13, adding a specialty decaf and half-caf coffee brand to its portfolio; financial terms were not disclosed. Explorer will bring Savorista's brand, associated intellectual property and customer base into its operations, with Savorista founder Kait Brown providing transition support and continuing to help shape brand vision and storytelling. Both brands promote reduced-caffeine and caffeine-free options. The acquisition adds roasted, bagged coffee to Explorer's bottled concentrate and ready-to-drink offerings. Explorer was founded in 2020 by Cason Crane and sells nationally through Whole Foods Market, Fresh Thyme and Amazon. Explorer closed a $2.5 million seed round in early 2023 after a $1.5 million round in 2021. Savorista was founded in 2018 by Kait Brown and Daniel Fernandes; Brown previously worked at Bain & Company.
