Chinese coffee analysis equipment firm DiFluid has introduced new products, including OmniVision, a real-time roast analysis tool utilizing infrared color and temperature detection. Unveiled at the SCA Expo in Houston, OmniVision monitors roasting changes and detects key moments in the coffee roasting process, such as first and second crack. DiFluid also highlighted its smaller roasting smoke mitigation device, AirWave. Both brands are owned by Shenzhen Digitizing Fluid Technology Co., showcasing their commitment to in-house design and production to cater to coffee professionals and enthusiasts.
The OmniVision device sends an infrared beam in through the glass windows of roasters, analyzing color and temperature for real-time display during the roasting process.
'You will see a curve [on the screen] that means the change of the roast degree, by color,' DiFluid Marketing Manager Shera Guo noted about how it detects first and second crack.
