Congregation Coffee has reopened its Uptown location in New Orleans after new ownership under Patrick Brennan. The cafe features a 1,200-square-foot space with vintage tin ceilings and original hardwood floors. Decorative elements include natural wood slats and art deco booth dividers. The coffee shop serves signature blends and pastries from the Ralph Brennan Bakery. This expansion follows Brennan's acquisition of the company from bankruptcy in October 2023, reviving operations that had ceased in spring 2023.
"We wanted to highlight the tin ceiling, and close-to-original wood floors, while bringing in some of our design elements," Congregation Coffee's new owner, Patrick Brennan, told DCN.
This opening marks Congregation's first major expansion since Brennan bought the company out of bankruptcy in October 2023.
Brennan, a longtime customer who discovered Congregation while upgrading the Brennan's restaurant coffee program in 2016, moved quickly after the acquisition.
