"Manual coffee equipment maker AeroPress recently took its first plunge into grinding with the launch of a metal manual grinder intended to accompany its brewers. Designed entirely in-house, the Manual Grinder by AeroPress is built to nest inside the hollow plunger of the AeroPress brewer for optimal portability when not in use. The grinder is currently selling globally for $199.95. "The AeroPress Manual Grinder fits in an AeroPress, arm and all," a company spokesperson told Daily Coffee News."
"Weighing 20.5 ounces, the slim grinder features 38-millimeter titanium-coated conical burrs turned by the Easy-Grind Magnetic Handle. The patent-pending design uses magnets inside a fitted groove along the grinder's exterior to stow the handle compactly when not in use. Ball bearings around the shaft above and below the burrs grant smooth turning action while maintaining alignment. Exterior grooves enhance appearance and ergonomics. The grinder ships with a drill-bit attachment that lets users drive the burrs with an electric drill."
"All AeroPress brewer models accommodate the Manual Grinder inside the plunger except AeroPress Premium - the less travel-friendly glass version that launched last year with a slightly narrower metal plunger. While it fits inside the plungers of the AeroPress Go and Go Plus, the existing self-contained travel kits for those models don't currently accommodate the grinder. The grinder does loosely fit in the AeroPress XL 's included travel bag."
