The American AeroPress Championship is organizing a multi-city tour to celebrate the 20th birthday of the AeroPress brewing device. Cities hosting regional events include Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle, and New York, culminating in a national championship in San Francisco on Oct. 26. Participants will enjoy unlimited coffee from various roasters and compete in a rapid-fire, elimination tournament. This marks the 13th annual U.S. championship, which began in Oslo, Norway, with few competitors. The popularity of the competition has surprised its inventor, Alan Adler.
The U.S. events will include sips of unlimited coffees from local and national roasters. Names like Sey Coffee, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and Black Fox Coffee will feature.
Competitors have five minutes to put forth their best AeroPress brew in a rapid-fire, multi-round elimination tournament. Judges taste and select their favorites.
