Peter Luger Steakhouse Just Released Its Very Own Jagermeister-Style Spirit
"Brooklyn-based amaro producer Faccia Brutto Spirits teamed up with the 139-year-old restaurant to launch a German-style herbal liqueur that will be available at the restaurant, online, and in select New York City bottle shops. Peter Luger partnered with the local distillery to create the bittersweet liqueur to celebrate the restaurant's heritage and offer a one-of-a-kind digestif that's the perfect cap to a hearty meal of steakhouse classics."
"Like Faccia Brutto's range of Italian-style amari and aperitivo, Lugermeister is made from a base of neutral grain spirit sourced from upstate New York. Botanicals such as poppy seed, gentian, juniper berry, kola nut, licorice root, and sarsaparilla are macerated for two weeks, sweetened, and proofed to 30% ABV. The result is an unaged digestif with notes of licorice and juniper juxtaposed with sweet cacao nib, candied grapefruit, cinnamon, and toasted poppy."
