A balanced after-dinner drink layers sweetness, bitterness, and richness in equal measure. Golden rum, amaretto, coffee liqueur, and Fernet Branca are combined in equal 20ml portions. Orange zest is used as a garnish. All liquids are measured into a mixing glass filled with ice and stirred until very cold. The mixture is strained straight up into a Nick & Nora glass. The orange zest is twisted over the top to express the oils, then dropped into the glass before serving. The finished drink has a clean, bitter-edged finish suited to cooler nights.
