White Sox to rest slumping Robert to work on mechanics
Briefly

The Chicago White Sox are resting center fielder Luis Robert Jr. for a couple of days to allow him to focus on adjustments to his batting. Manager Will Venable indicated that Robert, who is struggling with a batting average of .177, agreed to the time off to work on his swing without the stress of gameplay. Despite some knee soreness, Venable believes it isn't significantly impacting Robert’s performance. Robert leads the league in steals, but recent performance has been disappointing, prompting this strategic decision.
He'll be available, but not in the starting lineup, just to give (him) an opportunity to really dial in some of these adjustments without just feeling the pressure of having to go out there and perform.
He is putting in a ton of work and working extremely hard all throughout the day to try and get this thing right.
There's some soreness, but I think that it's not more than any soreness that all these guys feel during the course of the summer and playing hard out there every day.
Robert responded positively to the idea of taking a couple days off.
