White Sox pitching prospect Grant Taylor 'forced his way' to majors
"His pitching knowledge, for how young he is, is super-advanced. He's very serious about his work, how he goes about his business and his routine."
"Just a little bit of shock, a lot of excitement. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time, and I'm excited to be here."
Sean Burke, a right-hander for the White Sox, praised teammate Grant Taylor's advanced pitching intelligence, despite Taylor's youth. Taylor was recently called up from Double-A Birmingham, where he impressed with a 1.01 ERA and impressive strikeout rates. After overcoming injuries throughout his college and early career, Taylor made a successful major-league debut against the Astros. Manager Will Venable indicated the team plans to utilize Taylor in a multi-inning relief role to protect his health and help him develop further.
