Josh Rojas made his highly anticipated debut for the Chicago White Sox after being reinstated from the injured list, participating in a 5-4 comeback victory against the Houston Astros. Although he went 0 for 2, Rojas drew a key bases-loaded walk to help close a 4-0 deficit. The White Sox secured the win with impactful hits from Luis Robert Jr. and Edgar Quero. Pitcher Mike Vasil earned his first major-league win, and the team achieved only their second series victory of the season. Manager Will Venable praised Rojas for his leadership and defensive skills on the field.
"I was really focused. When (Robert) got a steal, I was trying to hit the ball to the middle of the field. Especially with the guy throwing a lot of breaking balls, just put the ball in play."
"Really happy, but more importantly, the series win."
"He's one of our veteran guys that's been around, can play the game the right way in all facets. Someone we like having there and made some good plays there at third base."
"I felt like I was out forever."
