White Sox activate Sosa from IL, option Baldwin
"Sosa was batting .274 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 57 games to begin the season. On a three-game rehab stint at Charlotte, he went 1-for-10."
"Baldwin, 24, was in his second major league season and made starts at second base, third base, shortstop and all three outfield spots this year."
The Chicago White Sox reinstated infielder Lenyn Sosa from the injured list after he spent two weeks recovering from a right hip flexor strain. Sosa, who previously served as the team's second baseman, will make his return at first base while batting seventh against the St. Louis Cardinals. In a corresponding roster move, utility player Brooks Baldwin was sent back to Triple-A Charlotte. Baldwin has been versatile, playing multiple positions this season. Additionally, left-handed reliever Fraser Ellard is set to begin his rehab assignment after a prolonged injury absence.
