The Chicago White Sox reinstated infielder Lenyn Sosa from the injured list after he spent two weeks recovering from a right hip flexor strain. Sosa, who previously served as the team's second baseman, will make his return at first base while batting seventh against the St. Louis Cardinals. In a corresponding roster move, utility player Brooks Baldwin was sent back to Triple-A Charlotte. Baldwin has been versatile, playing multiple positions this season. Additionally, left-handed reliever Fraser Ellard is set to begin his rehab assignment after a prolonged injury absence.
Sosa was batting .274 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 57 games to begin the season. On a three-game rehab stint at Charlotte, he went 1-for-10.
Baldwin, 24, was in his second major league season and made starts at second base, third base, shortstop and all three outfield spots this year.
