Veteran player believes the White Sox will be playoff contenders in 2026
Briefly

The Chicago White Sox struggle in 2025 with a 44-77 record but may improve by over 20 games from 2024. Eleven players debuted in MLB, contributing to a young core highlighted by Colson Montgomery and Kyle Teel. General Manager Chris Getz hints at offseason additions, while starting pitcher Martín Pérez believes the team is poised to contend for the playoffs in 2026. Pérez emphasizes the value of experience in transitioning players to the major leagues and anticipates a competitive team next season.
"I think the experience is going to get this team to another level. If we continue doing what we've been doing, we're going to see a contending team next year," Pérez told Garfien.
"Because when you get to the big leagues for the first time, there's a lot of things that you never see down in Triple-A or maybe Double-A. It's a different game," he said.
"I know it's the same baseball, but different strike zone, different umpires, different approaches, the mentality is different too. I think next year is going to be a good team and I think it's time for this organization to have a good team and fight for a spot in the playoffs."
