Chris Getz aims to rebuild the Chicago White Sox by focusing on premium positions like catcher, middle infield, and center field. Since his promotion as general manager, his vision is materializing despite a poor record of 42-74. The emphasis isn't only on winning but developing young talent. With improvements like a 14-win increase over 2024 and better run differential, progress is evident. Getz highlights young catchers and other positional prospects as vital for future success, aiming to build a competitive team through strategic acquisitions and development.
I've said this from the beginning. I really wanted to create a team that's strong up the middle. We've got two young catchers [Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero] that I would say you look at that tandem, youth and their ability and that's something really special.
When you are strong up the middle you are in a good position to win baseball games. We'll continue to add around those players. We have plenty of guys who are playing well and continue to add to this group.
