Patrick Kane recorded his 1,374th career regular-season point with an assist on an Alex DeBrincat goal, tying Mike Modano for the most points by a U.S.-born player in NHL history. Mike Modano had held the solo record since Nov. 7, 2007. The milestone came during a game in which the Detroit Red Wings lost 3-1 to the Los Angeles Kings. The NHL and USA Hockey posted celebratory messages noting that Kane matched Modano’s American-born all-time points total. The achievement places Kane alongside Modano atop the U.S.-born scoring list in NHL history.
