Iowa Cubs lost 4-1 to the Nashville Sounds, with Kevin Alcántara hitting a solo home run in the second inning to give Iowa an early 1-0 lead. Iowa managed only six total hits. Knoxville Smokies fell 9-5 to the Columbus Clingstones after an early 1-0 lead from Alex Ramírez’s double. Grant Kipp allowed three runs in the first, and Knoxville later tied the game in the third using an RBI double by Andy Garriola and another RBI hit from Ramírez.
