The North Siders expanded their edge with three in the bottom of the 4th on a two-run single by Nico Hoerner, followed by an RBI knock off the bat of Ian Happ to make it a 4-0 score."

Cardinals infielder Thomas Saggese put the Italians on top with a solo homer off of Jeff Brigham in the 7th. They added another four runs against Ben Heller in the 8th and sent the Cubs to a 9-4 defeat."

The Cubs built a 4-0 lead through the fourth inning with solo home run by Dansby Swanson and additional runs from Nico Hoerner and Ian Happ. Italy mounted a comeback against Cubs relievers, scoring two-run homers off Jack Neely to tie the game in the sixth inning. Thomas Saggese added a solo homer, and Italy scored four more runs in the eighth inning to secure a 9-4 victory. The Cubs' bullpen struggled significantly in the late innings after the starting lineup was removed.
