The Cubs face the Pirates in Pittsburgh with all regulars returning to their usual defensive positions. The batting order is adjusted: Pete Crow-Armstrong leads off, Alex Bregman bats cleanup, and Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki occupy the five and six spots. Moises Ballesteros is the designated hitter, Carson Kelly bats eighth, and Dansby Swanson is ninth. Jordan Wicks, a left-handed pitcher, is recalled to start after Edward Cabrera went to the injured list. Wicks has not started in the majors since September 2024, but he has made seven starts in Iowa. His recent Triple-A outings include three consecutive strong performances with low earned runs.

Meanwhile, Carson Kelly is batting eighth, behind Moises Ballesteros at DH, and Dansby Swanson is ninth."
