Bulls Trading Kevin Huerter for Jaden Ivey, Mike Conley
"The Chicago Bulls are ditching sharpshooting guard Kevin Huerter and just-acquired center Dario Saric for recent lottery pick swingman Jaden Ivey and the expiring contract of a far-past-his-prime Mike Conley Jr. as part of a three-team trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons, reports Shams Charania of ESPN. The Timberwolves are sending the Pistons a first-round pick swap from this coming summer's draft."
"During a subsequent appearance on ESPN, Charania indicated that the move for Ivey "raises questions about the futures of Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu in Chicago." White and Dosunmu will both hit unrestricted free agency this summer, barring contract extensions with Chicago before the 2026-27 season officially tips off in July. Both have been eyed by the Timberwolves as potential trade additions by this Thursday's deadline."
The Chicago Bulls traded Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to obtain Jaden Ivey and the expiring contract of Mike Conley Jr. in a three-team deal with the Timberwolves and Pistons. Minnesota sent a first-round pick swap to Detroit. Bulls president Arturas Karnisovas made the move days after acquiring Saric for future second-rounders. Ivey is the primary target while Conley functions as a salary dump. Ivey will be a restricted free agent this summer and averaged 8.2 points while slashing .450/.372/.789, with 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 33 Pistons games. Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu face uncertain futures as free agents.
