Blackhawks Well Represented on Craig Button's New Top 50 Prospect Rankings - Bleacher Nation
"Frondell understands what is required to try and get on the right side of any situation in the game. With the puck, without the puck, defensively and offensively, penalty kill, power play. He just gets it front to back and everywhere in between, and he's competitive. When I watch Anton play, I see so much of Sasha Barkov's game."
Craig Button released an updated ranking of the top 50 affiliated NHL prospects, with the Blackhawks well represented. Button's rankings often differ from other prospect analysts due to his extensive front office experience, including work with the Minnesota North Stars and as general manager of the Calgary Flames. His latest list shows a notable shift, with five of the top eleven prospects playing in the NCAA and only one in the AHL. The Blackhawks have two top-ten prospects: Anton Frondell at No. 2 and Roman Kantserov at No. 10, both playing overseas in the SHL and KHL respectively. Václav Nestrašil ranks at No. 26. Button notably excludes Marek Vanacker and Jack Pridham, the OHL's top two goal scorers, from his top 50.
