Viking Gustafsson Nyberg, a 22-year-old defenseman from Sweden, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild. He previously played for the University of Connecticut, where he led the team with a plus-18 rating. Gustafsson Nyberg has already participated in two games with the Iowa Wild on an amateur tryout basis. He will be available for the Wild's final four regular-season games as they prepare for the playoffs. Additionally, the Wild signed Charlie Stramel, a former Michigan State forward, to a three-year contract for next season.
