Young defensemen showed progress: Vincent Iorio recorded an assist and finished plus-two in 14:56 of ice time, Sam Dickinson had a positive showing, and Shakir Mukhamadullin logged 20:55 and was plus-one. Coach Ryan Warsofsky moved William Eklund onto the top line with Macklin Celebrini, and Eklund scored and later assisted Celebrini's goal. Rookie Igor Chernyshov also made a notable contribution during his fifth game.
