An abandoned cub was rescued from the woods. Now he's being raised by humans - dressed as bears
Briefly

A 2-month-old black bear cub, found alone and underweight in Los Padres National Forest, is being rehabilitated at the San Diego Humane Society's Ramona Wildlife Center. To prevent the cub from bonding with humans ahead of its return to the wild, staff dress as bears while caring for it. Initially fragile after being rescued due to malnutrition, the cub now thrives, receiving four feeding sessions daily. Experts aim to return him to the wild, ideally pairing him with another cub to avoid human imprinting.
He was extremely fragile when he arrived. After going several days without nutrition, it was touch-and-go at first. But now, he's active, eating well and gaining weight steadily.
This is a very unusual case. We don't often see bears this young without their mother. It's an honor to care for him, but it's also a significant commitment.
