The White Sox blown 10-4 lead to the Braves wasn't their worst loss of the week
Briefly

The White Sox entered Atlanta after losing five of six to Kansas City and Detroit. The team struggled early in the second half but hoped to rebound against a talented but underachieving Braves club. In Monday's opener the Sox knocked Spencer Strider out in the fourth and built a 10-1 lead, later extending to 13-5, before Atlanta rallied and threatened late; reliever Jordan Leasure preserved the win. On Tuesday Chicago again scored 10 runs and led 10-4 into the seventh, but a bullpen collapse — Tyler Gilbert, Elvis Peguero and Tyler Alexander — allowed Atlanta to take the lead and close out the comeback.
The team arrived in Atlanta to play a talented-but-underachieving Braves team and hoping to right the ship. Everything was going according to plan in Monday's series opener. The White Sox bats came out hot and knocked Atlanta starter Spencer Strider out of the game in the fourth inning. By the sixth, the Sox held a 10-1 lead, and it felt out of reach for the Braves.
With a chance to win the series on Tuesday, the White Sox staked themselves to a big lead once again. The bats exploded for another 10 runs, and the Sox took a 10-4 lead into the 7th. Shane Smith set his career high with 101 pitches to get the White Sox through 6 innings, and Will Venable called on his bullpen once again. This time, however, they wouldn't be as fortunate.
