CHICAGO - Lenyn Sosa entered his eighth inning at-bat against Tim Hill with the approach of "just stay calm." "My main thought was just to take advantage of a good pitch," Sosa said through an interpreter, "and I was able to do that." Sosa hit a tiebreaking solo home run to center, helping to propel the Chicago White Sox to a 3-2 victory against the New York Yankees on Sunday in front of 27,810 at Rate Field. "Very exciting, emotional to be able to hit a homer against a team like them in that situation," Sosa said. "I'm very excited about it."
"It was a different lineup, made me work a little bit more," Pe9rez said. "I missed my spot against (Aaron) Judge and he hit a (solo) homer (in the first inning). But we got the win and that's most important for me." Manager Will Venable said Pe9rez was in "total control." "(He's) pounding the strike zone," Venable said. "It's the north-south game, the east-west, attacking hitters. Just another great job."
