Montero threw 38 pitches over 2⅔ innings and allowed two runs. The Tigers trimmed the deficit with doubles from Jahami Jones and Spencer Torkelson. The Tigers have dropped eight of 11 and are 22-27 since July 9. Tarik Skubal is scheduled to start the next game.
