Cubs bring up RHP Porter Hodge from Triple-A Iowa and send down LHP Jordan Wicks

Porter Hodge was recalled from Triple-A Iowa to the Chicago Cubs and left-hander Jordan Wicks was optioned to the top farm club. Hodge is 2-1 with a 6.85 ERA and two saves in 26 appearances for Chicago this season. In his past nine appearances with Iowa going back to Aug. 1, Hodge struck out 20 and allowed six hits over 12 scoreless innings. The Cubs entered the series finale at Colorado leading the NL wild-card standings at 78-58 while trailing NL Central-leading Milwaukee by 6 1/2 games. Wicks, a 25-year-old first-round pick in 2021, is 0-1 with an 8.71 ERA in six relief appearances this year.
