Lincoln City 1-2 Chelsea: Report, result, goals as Maresca reveals change after first-half 'struggle' in EFL Cup
""We struggled in the first half but, in the second, we were much, much better,""
""It's just about the players. We changed something at half-time in terms of Jorell Hato's position. Ty's goal was fantastic and Facundo's was very good.""
""I was very, very worried about this game - more than some Premier League games, because these are tricky games where you can easily slip up,""
""Lincoln were very dangerous from every free-kick, throw-in, cross inside the box, so you need to defend in the right way.""
Chelsea came from behind to beat Lincoln City 2-1 in the EFL Cup. Rob Street gave Lincoln a 42nd-minute lead before Tyrique George equalised three minutes into the second half with a long-range volley. On-loan midfielder Facundo Buonanotte completed a skilful run and scored the winner shortly after. Manager Enzo Maresca said the team struggled in the first half, made a positional change involving Jorrel Hato at half-time, and improved after the break. Maresca warned that Lincoln were dangerous from set-pieces and wide deliveries. Chelsea progressed to the fourth round and ended a two-match losing run.
