Chelsea's Cole Palmer has been ruled out of the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Albania due to a muscle injury. Manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that since Palmer has been battling illness and wasn't fit for Chelsea's last match, it would make no sense to call him up. Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White will take his place. Palmer's injury is being monitored, and there are hopes for his return after the break as Chelsea resumes their Premier League fixtures.
Cole will not be with us. He was not on the pitch with Chelsea. We've waited quite a while now for feedback and for the chance, maybe, to call him up.
Palmer was sent for a second scan on his injury, with Chelsea keen to be completely certain of the problem at hand before drafting up a potential recovery plan.
