"Owners of the 2026 Toyota bZ and 2026 Subaru Solterra electric crossovers can now use over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America without an adapter. The two battery-powered electric cousins gained access to Tesla's network of DC fast chargers yesterday, which includes Plug & Charge functionality. As long as there is a payment method set up in the SubaruConnect or Toyota app, drivers can just plug in, and the charging session will begin automatically."
"The bad news is that the older 2023 to 2025 Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra don't support Plug & Charge, so owners will have to use a card or a smartphone app every time they charge at a Supercharger. Furthermore, not everybody will get a free charging adapter. The 2026 models come from the factory with a Tesla-style NACS charge port, so they don't need an adapter for Superchargers."
2026 Toyota bZ and 2026 Subaru Solterra electric crossovers receive factory-installed Tesla-style NACS ports and immediate access to more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America with Plug & Charge. Drivers only need a payment method set up in the SubaruConnect or Toyota app to start charging automatically. Older 2023–2025 bZ4X and Solterra models use CCS2 ports, do not support Plug & Charge, and require drivers to use a card or app for each Supercharger session. Toyota plans to provide complimentary NACS adapters and includes J1772 and CCS2 adapters on 2026 Toyota EVs. 2026 models still require adapters to use CCS1 networks like Electrify America, ChargePoint, and EVgo.
