The Mercedes GLC EV Is Looking Like A Sales Hit Already
"The electric SUV debuted in Germany last September, with European customers already able to place orders for the fast-charging EV. According to Mercedes-Benz, the order books are already filled well into the second half of 2026, which means people are keen on getting behind the wheel of a well-rounded EV that's capable of going over 400 miles on a full charge and top-up its battery in less than 30 minutes."
"Following the outstanding start of the new CLA, demand for the new all-electric GLC is now also significantly exceeding our expectations, said Mathias Geisen, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Marketing & Sales. Mercedes also said that the GLC with EQ Technology is already being built in three shifts at its Bremen plant in Germany, with additional shifts on Saturdays to meet the demand. And if that's still not enough, Mercedes-Benz will expand production at other factories to meet the demand."
Mercedes-Benz's new GLC electric SUV has generated demand well beyond initial projections, with order books filled into the second half of 2026. The model was developed on a new platform with upgraded technology and headline specifications. The GLC with EQ Technology delivers more than 400 miles of range and supports fast top-ups in under 30 minutes. Production at the Bremen plant runs three shifts plus additional Saturday shifts, and Mercedes-Benz plans to expand output at other factories to satisfy demand. Strong early sales follow similarly robust interest in the new CLA and other recent European EV launches.
