Stoneridge to showcase next-generation MirrorEye MP II at Busworld Europe 2025 - Sustainable Bus
"Building on Stoneridge's commitment to enhance driver visibility and passenger safety, MirrorEye MP II replaces traditional side-view mirrors with advanced digital cameras and high-definition monitors, revolutionizing driver visibility. By eliminating blind spots, MirrorEye enhances road safety, improves driver awareness of surrounding objects and Vulnerable Road Users, and delivers superior vision in challenging environments where traditional mirrors fall short. The next-generation of MirrorEye takes safety to the next level by helping drivers stay aware of pedestrians and cyclists with critical safety features."
"When a cyclist is detected in the bus's blind spot, a warning appears on the monitor. An orange signal means caution, while red clearly indicates immediate danger. When pedestrians or cyclists are in front of the bus just before driving off, a direct alert will appear on the monitor, helping drivers to react instantly. And in the unlikely event that an accident occurs, the Digital Video Stream Output enables recordings you can use for incident documentation, liability protection, and driver training."
MirrorEye MP II replaces traditional side-view mirrors with digital cameras and high-definition monitors to eliminate blind spots and improve driver awareness of surrounding objects and Vulnerable Road Users. The system integrates Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and Moving Off Information System (MOIS) visual warnings to comply with EU General Safety Regulation (EU 2019/2144). Color-coded monitor alerts warn drivers of cyclists or pedestrians in blind spots or before moving off. Digital Video Stream Output records incidents for documentation, liability protection, and driver training. The system reduces sun glare and delivers outstanding image quality and reliable visibility in varied conditions. Stoneridge will exhibit at Busworld Europe 2025.
