David Ramírez and his sons, Daniel (13) and Nicolás (10), qualified to represent Anaheim at the K1 Speed California State Championship after podium finishes in their respective divisions. The family, originally from Colombia and now living in Anaheim, will compete in Irvine with a state result potentially opening the door to the national championship and the international E-World Championship with a $79,000 prize pool and competitors from more than 10 countries. David began racing at K1 Speed in 2008 before having children, finding it an accessible way to race without buying equipment that grew into a larger pursuit. Daniel, crowned teen division champion, credits gradual learning and championship experience with increased enjoyment. Nicolás, junior division winner, focuses on fun and family racing spirit. All three also qualified in 2024.
