"The "with EQ Technology" branding may be clunky, this Benz's interior looks refined as ever. Our first peek inside the electric GLC reveals a design that blends Tesla-like tech with classy Mercedes designs of the recent past. I was never a fan of the dashboard-wide MBUX Hyperscreen found in some of the company's current cars. But the new 39.1-inch pillar-to-pillar display feels like a more elegant evolution."
"On current EQ models, the Hyperscreen has a funky shape and is split into three separate displays that are integrated into a glossy black panel. In the new GLC, it's a seamless full-width display with matrix backlighting and 1,000 individually controlled LEDs. Mercedes says the system introduces a patented "intelligent zone dimming" feature. It seems like the automotive screen wars are still in full swing."
Mercedes-Benz will unveil the 2026 GLC with EQ Technology at the IAA Mobility show in Munich. The interior offers an optional 39.1-inch pillar-to-pillar full-width display with matrix backlighting and 1,000 individually controlled LEDs. The system includes a patented "intelligent zone dimming" feature. The design blends Tesla-like tech elements with classic Mercedes styling, presented as an evolution of the MBUX Hyperscreen. Mercedes is keeping familiar nameplates while advancing its EV lineup; the GLC was the brand's best-selling model last year. The electric GLC is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in spring 2026.
