Meet the 21-year-old Shankill woman who is one of Ireland's youngest driving instructors
"Some four years ago, a driving school boasted it had among its team the youngest driving instructor in Ireland, at age just 22. That was in November 2020, when with the help of Ladybird Driving School, Karla O'Reilly successfully completed all stages of the rigorous test to qualify at the RSA Tallaght Test Centre. That was some feat for the school, given the youngest possible age to become a driving instructor in Ireland is 21."
"But it is a feat that has now been bettered by a young lady from Shankill, south County Dublin, who recently completed a two-year journey to become a fully qualified driving instructor - and quite possibly, the youngest in the country."
A driving school had among its team the youngest driving instructor in Ireland at age 22, qualifying in November 2020 with help from Ladybird Driving School when Karla O'Reilly completed all stages of the rigorous test at the RSA Tallaght Test Centre. The minimum eligible age to qualify as a driving instructor in Ireland is 21. That earlier achievement was notable for the school. A young woman from Shankill, south County Dublin, recently completed a two-year qualification journey to become a fully qualified driving instructor and may now hold the distinction of being the youngest in the country.
