"Designer Wini Camacho imagines Topolino XS, an extra-small Fiat electric vehicle that can convert itself into a coupe, a roadster, or a roofless mini car. Equipped with a versatile three-in-one system, the modular concept vehicle allows the driver to remove the roof, windshield, and windows, depending on the driving vibe they're going for. It's a setup that the designer wants to bring forth because the Fiat Topolino XS for him is a mini car that embodies the less-is-more philosophy"
"Then, there are the head and tail lights, which are scooped out from the surfaces of the mini car's body so that it keeps its seamless, unified spherical form. 'It's what I call adding value by subtracting parts and complexity,' the designer shares with designboom. The headlights also resemble a pair of eyes with their black, circular dots surrounded by the white LED beams, giving the concept Fiat Topolino XS a playful face as the mini car roams around cities."
"At the back of the vehicle, the taillights consist of hundreds of tiny LEDs that can be customized to different designs. Inside the concept Fiat Topolino XS, designer Wini Camacho places a stationary central steering wheel hub instead of putting it on a side. In this way, drivers can keep their digital display, horn, and safety features fixed and easy to read and reach while taking the mini car for a ride."
Topolino XS is an extra-small modular electric vehicle designed to convert between coupe, roadster, and roofless configurations through a removable roof, windshield, and windows. The concept adopts an 'extreme' less-is-more minimalism, aiming to let owners change driving style without switching cars. Headlights and taillights are integrated into scooped surfaces to preserve a seamless spherical body, with front lights resembling eyes and rear lights made of hundreds of customizable tiny LEDs. The interior centers a stationary steering-wheel hub and fixed central display while a single-spoke wheel rotates, and the small battery pack is intended for home recharging. The vehicle measures about 2.4 meters long and 1.4 meters wide.
